MOG launches Free Music Streaming

Category: Applications, Release Date: 14-Sep-2011

Having to pay for music is just a thing of the past. Several web apps that are offering music streaming require a subscription, but now MOG has announced that it's adding a free (advertising supported) plan. As ReadWriteWeb points out that move seems in response to the recent launch of Spotify in the US (which has been successful in Europe for a while now).

To sign up for a free MOG account, users only need to connect using your Facebook account. Upon doing so, you'll be shown a list of recommended artists based on the music preferences found on your Facebook profile.

Until here it seems like a dream comes true, but… The free account comes with just 14 days of unlimited streaming, including on mobile devices. After that, you'll either have to pay up or accept the limitations of the streaming.

Offering free music will definitely affect the other radio apps or web apps in the market such as Pandora or Rdio which are leading this market.
